FourCubed Acquires Poker Training Site DeucesCracked
It seems like just about every day there is a big merger or acquisition being announced in the online gaming world. Just a few days ago, Paddy Power PLC and Betfair announced a huge merger where the combined company would be worth £5.8 billion.
Ladbrokes and Gala Coral announced a merger in July where the combined company would be worth £2.3 billion. Last, but not least, we should expect an announcement soon as to who wins the bidding war between 888 Holdings, the operator of
888 Poker, and GVC, the operator of Sportingbet, to be the new owner of bwin.party.
In the latest industry news, iGaming affiliate
FourCubed LLC just announced the acquisition of the
poker training site
DeucesCracked. While we do not know what the acquisition costs were for FourCubed, we can easily assume it was for far less money that the online gaming site mergers and acquisitions just mentioned.
This could be big news for the online poker software industry, as it could change the way the training site operates and might become a model for other affiliates to follow down the road. For example, we can speculate that it would be possible that DuecesCracked would now be free in exchange for other activity a customer provides to FourCubed. It is also possible that FourCubed leaves the training site as a standalone company to provide services to its members. Or, maybe there will be a ton of cross-promotion.
If you aren't familiar with DeucesCracked, the site provides poker training services by some of the top names in the game including Jay Rosenkrantz, Joe Tall, Dani "Ansky" Stern, and Vanessa Selbst. The site current offers a seven-day free trial and if you like what you see, there are plans starting at $29 a month and going up to $278.40 for a full year.
DeucesCracked co-founder
Chuck Danielsson is understandably thrilled by the deal, announcing in a press release, "DeucesCracked is very excited to be a part of the team here at FourCubed. Their industry reach means our content will be able to find a larger audience and our customers will have access to the most competitive player offers on the market."
Jim Olson, President, FourCubed, also appears excited about adding the poker training site to its company's portfolio, stating in the same press, "DeucesCracked is a great addition to the FourCubed family. Chuck and the team bring complementary skills and assets to our overall growth plan."
What this means for current subscribers of
DeucesCracked is unknown. However, based on past history, we shouldn't expect much to change in the very immediate future.
